One kanji, several readings
A kanji has readings that depend on the word. These 32 cards show selected common readings, not an exhaustive kanji dictionary. Parentheses show the kana written outside a kanji. Whole words can have sound changes. Type a whole word to get a more useful estimate.

Numbers, counters and dates
The rules cover positive whole numbers without commas up to 99,999,999 and common counters. Calendar-month rules cover 1–12 and day rules 1–31. The counter 分 is read here as minutes; proportions and expressions may differ. Dates and durations can differ; names and unusual compounds still need checking.

Words with more than one reading
十分 can mean enough (じゅうぶん) or ten minutes (じゅっぷん). 人気 can mean popularity (にんき) or signs of people (ひとけ). Choose the meaning in the reading panel. A person’s name is an estimate that only its owner or a reliable source can confirm.
Hiragana to kanji?
Use a Japanese input method: type the reading, then choose the kanji candidate. This reader does not translate, recognize handwriting or choose kanji from hiragana. See Japanese keyboard setup.
Why is katakana left alone?
Katakana is already readable kana. Keep it for the original written form, or choose “Change to hiragana” for a script-only change. Particles stay written は・へ・を.
